Calm is something that I generally manage to convince the world that I am.
Like yesterday, when I was queuing to buy a sandwich, absolutely ravenous, and the elderly gentleman in front of me managed to waste a vast amount of my precious time as he transformed the simple act of paying for a 71 pence packet of winegums into a herculean task.
There was fumbling and coin dropping like never seen before. I stood quietly and smiled congenially, the perfect picture of calm AS PRACTICALLY HALF MY LIFE WAS WASTED BY THIS DITHERING BUFFOON.
My children are very rarely calm, but when they are it stills the soul. This was one such moment.
This is a random and hurriedly-scrambled egg entry for some sort of 30 Days of Photographs theme, hosted Ziva. I did one of these things before, you can view all my photos from the previous series Here, it nearly burnt out my brain but fortunately my soul was unscathed. Any photos I do post from this one might appear on that gallery. The list of daily photos is magically available on Ziva's post.
I know exactly what you are thinking. How can this punk just turn up and spit out a single shoddy photo when the rest of us are cranking out billions of the things every second and it's a bit like that greek bloke that was trying to roll some bastard of a rock up some ridiculous hill forever and worst still, this looks like he's done this in a rush when he really should have been working his socks off learning to use punctuation without spewing out inappropriately-hypenated, probably-misspelt and endlessly-sprawling torrents of nonsense.

Okay, there is absolutely nothing shoddy about that photo! It is one of the most calming and beautiful photos of a child I've ever seen. I insist that you kiss the calm goodbye and post a photo every single day for the rest of the month. Please?

What the outside world views
What the outside world views as "calm" we know as "biding your time until your master plan for world domination come to fruition".
You and I both know that at
You and I both know that at some point we'll rule the world. I'm open to a partnership as long as I get the nuclear passwords. If you want to be responsible for all public speaking that's fine by me - I'm going to be too busy nuking to care about public relations.

I always end up in the queue behind the person with a problem/wants to pay in coppers/is generally just slow/etc no matter that queue I join!
I think the important thing
I think the important thing is to make sure we're never in the same shop at the same time, our combined bad luck would probably lead to the world's descruction.

I think the point of the video is that it's pretty much a societal norm to sigh heavily and stamp our feet when we feel impatient. ;-)
The photo is precious. A glimpse into a contemplative moment, so serene and beautiful..where she is no doubt plotting.
I'll check the link. Glad you
